| Creating an Account |
In order to create an account with UK Swingers, you must first register
To register you must provide the following information.
- A Valid Postcode
- Your Town & County
- Your Sex
- Your Marital Status
- A Valid Email Address
- A Username & Password
Once you have successfully provided this information, you will be sent an activation email. You need to read this email and follow the instructions within it in order to activate your account.

| Activate Your Account |
To activate your account, you must follow the instructions within your activation email. This was sent you at the point of registration. Within it, you will have received an activation code.
If you have received this activation code and don't know what to do next, please go to the activation page here
Haven't received activation email?
This might be down to the fact that the HTML email is not getting through to you properly, please try analysing your account using the 'login problems page' but set the email type to PLAIN TEXT If you are certain that your activation email has still not been received, please contact admin at uk-swingers.com (using the @ symbol - instead of the word 'at').

| Logging In |
You can only log in to the site once you have activated your account.
Forgotten Password?
If you are having difficulty logging in because you cannot remember your password, please use the 'login problems page' provided and your log in details will be sent to the email address you registered with.
Activated your account but still can't login?
The most likely cause of this problem is that your browser isn't properly allowing cookies to be set.
First Check...
Our very own COOKIE TEST page. If you get errors come back to this page and read on.
Then check...
Tools->Internet Options->Secuity Tab
Set to Medium
Privacy Tab
Set to Medium
Close Internet Explorer
Restart and try to login again.
Also check...
- Using Internet Explorer
- Select the Tools > Internet Options menu item
- Select the Security tab
- Select the Custom level button
- Enable "stored" + "per-session" cookies.
- Press OK
- Close Internet Explorer (all windows).
- Re-start Internet Exlporer and try logging in now.
- Using Netscape
- Select the Edit > Preferences menu item
- Click on the Advanced item (top level)
- Click "Accept only cookies that get sent back to originating server"
- Close Netscape (all windows) and try logging in now.
- Re-start Netscape and try logging in now.
NOTICE TO ALL AOL USERS: You may find that using Internet Explorer rather than the AOL browser may cure any problems you are having.
- AOL 8.0, 7.0 with IE & 6.0
From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
- Select Preferences
- Select Internet Properties (WWW)
- Select the Privacy tab
- Select Advanced
- Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
- Click OK to exit.
- AOL 7.0 with IE 5.5 & 6.0
From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
Select Preferences
- Select Internet Properties (WWW)
- Select the Security tab
- Select the Custom Level tab
- Under "Allow Cookies that are stored on your computer" click "Enable"
- Under "Allow per-session cookies (not stored)" click "Enable"
- Select OK, Yes you want to save the settings
- AOL 5.0
- Go to My AOL
- Pick WWW
- Click the Security tab
- Go to Custom Level
- Scroll down to find Cookie
- Click "Enable"
- Click OK

| Your Account |
There are many ways in which you can modify your personal account, we have broken these down in to the various sections below.
'Settings Menu'
The 'Settings' menu allows you to change your marital status, postcode, town & county.
'Password Menu'
The 'Password' menu allows you to change your password.
'Email Menu'
The 'Email Settings' menu allows you to change your email settings, this allows you to define what email type you would like to receive, 'HTML' or 'PLAIN TEXT'. It also allows you to specify which members you want to receive personal messages from. For example, If you are a couple and don't want to hear from Single Males, simply uncheck the relevant box.

| Your Profile |
There are many ways in which you can modify your personal account, we have broken these down in to the various sections below.
'Add/Edit Profile'
Once you have successfully logged in, you may wish to add your very own personal profile, so that others can find you. Simply complete the form provided and an Administrator will review your submission. Submissions are normally approved/declined within 72 hours.
'Add/Edit Advert'
Once you have added your profile, you will see this menu appear. It allows you to submit your own personal advert. All adverts are reviewed and verified by a real person and you will be notified once it has passed our submission criteria. PLEASE NOTE: This menu only becomes available once you have added your profile.
'Add/Edit Likes/Dislikes'
You can define as many Likes/Dislikes as you see fit, these can be updated at any time and will become live instantaneously. PLEASE NOTE: This menu only becomes available once you have added your profile.
'Add/Edit Photographs'
Once you have submitted your advert, you may also like to add some photographs for other members to see. Again, all photo submissions are reviewed by an administrator, once your photo has been approved, you will receive an email from our system to tell you that it is live on the site.

| Private Messaging System |
Our Private Messaging System is similar to email whereby you can send, receive and reply to messages form other members.
'SEND MSG'
The 'SEND MSG' button is situated at the top of every members profile. Simply hit this button to initiate the sending of a message to another member whose profile you like.
'Message Credits'
You may receive private messages from other members at any time but in order to send or receive messages, you need to have 'Message Credits'. Message Credits are provided free when you first sign up to the website but once these credits have depleted, you must re-stock by upgrading to GOLD membership so that your 'message credits' become unlimited.
